Why this site exists

Hair transplant quotes for what looks like the same procedure can differ by thousands of dollars between clinics, and rarely come with an explanation of why. HairTransplantCosts.net exists to lay out the variables clinics actually price on, so you can read a quote and recognize whether the number makes sense before you commit to anything.

How the calculator is built

The tool models two techniques, FUT (strip harvesting) and FUE (individual follicular unit extraction), scaled by graft count and adjusted for clinic tier and ZIP code. FUE runs more expensive than FUT for a given graft count because it takes longer per graft and uses more disposable equipment; on a 2,000-graft case that gap alone can be $2,000 to $4,000. Regional adjustment matters too: a clinic in Manhattan or the Bay Area typically charges 20 to 35 percent more per graft than one in a mid-sized Midwest city for comparable surgeon experience.

Where the numbers come from

Figures are compiled from published surgeon rate surveys, hair restoration industry pricing reports, and clinic price lists that are publicly posted. We do not receive payment from any clinic to set or adjust these figures. HairTransplantCosts.net has no ownership ties to any hair restoration practice, device maker, or franchise network. Outcomes and pricing both vary by surgeon skill, so we encourage checking a surgeon's board certification and, where relevant, membership in a body like the ISHRS or IAHRS before booking anything based on this estimate.
